“Freedom in mind, Strength in words, Pureness in our blood, Pride in our soul, Zeal in our hearts, Let us salute the spirit of Karnataka.”
Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated at our school with grandeur and vigour on November 1st. The celebration began by invoking God’s blessings through prayer. Principal Bri. Anjali amma graced the occasion by lightning the lamp and offering flowers at the lotus feet of Amma. A group of girls welcomed the gathering by dancing to the melody of the song, “Hachevu Kannada Deepa”. Children sang our popular Naada Geethe upholding the dignity of Karnataka.
The students also put up a short skit depicting true patriotic spirit towards one’s state. Through their impressive speeches, students made everyone proud of the rich cultural heritage and religious places of Karnataka. They spoke about the significance of the day in Kannada so that the worth of our land would be cherished by all for generations to come. The tiny tots recited vachanas with grace and confidence. In appreciation of our state, students showcased the culture of the land through folk dance and yakshagana. The day concluded with national anthem and distribution of sweets.
