As the adage goes, the earlier, the better. Career planning must begin at a very early stage. In this regard, Amrita Vidyalayam Davangere organized a career guidance programme on November 13th for classes 9 and 10. The session was conducted by Br. Anand Shenoi, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri. He was also the recipient of the Prestigious ACM ICPC Foundation Asia Distinguished Leadership Award in 2018. The session, supported by Principal Bri. Anjali amma, began with invocation, lighting of the lamp, welcome address and introduction of the guest.
Around 135 students from our school and 20 students from Smt. Pushpa Mahalingappa School, Davangere participated enthusiastically in the session which was aimed at educating the students about diverse career options like robotics, automation and other interdisciplinary domains. Br. Anand Shenoi urged the Class 10 students to focus on the right kind of skills and exposure that would help them build their career profile.
The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive and they were very satisfied with the session. All the students were of the view that having such sessions cleared their doubts and confusion about the various career options available to them. The question-answer session was an eye-opener as it made them realize their potential and skills to make the right choice.
