Gurupurnima was celebrated with great reverence and devotion on July 16th at Amrita Vidyalayam. Parents, students, teaching and non-teaching staff gathered together to express gratitude to the Guru.
The celebration began with a skit by the students based on the dependability and legitimacy of the Guru – Shishya Parampara. Guru stotra, Ashtothara and Guru Paduka Puja were performed under the guidance of Principal Bri. Anjali amma, filling the atmosphere with positive energy.
To show reverence to the Guru for imparting the immense wealth of knowledge and wisdom, Sanskriti Puja was performed under the guidance of our Principal Bri. Anjali amma. This ritual enables the nobler potential within us to blossom. The students washed the feet of their parents and teachers with devotion and respect amidst the chanting of mantras. They offered flowers at the feet of their parents and teachers and performed arati to them. This custom of washing the feet of the Guru recognizes the divinity within the Guru as well as the divinity that is within us. Bhajans were sung to show gratitude and love to the Guru.
The celebration concluded with arati, Shanti mantra and prasad distribution.
