Savitribai Phule Jayanti was observed during the assembly on January 3rd to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the first female teacher and ardent champion of ending caste discrimination and illiteracy.
A speech was delivered about the important role that she played in improving women’s rights in India. Her sacrifices and struggles as a social reformerwho made students, especially girls, realize the importance of education through examples of her own experience will be remembered for a long time. She inspired many students to face the challenges in their lives, and taught them how one can be successful in uplifting the downtrodden and the marginalized.
