With multiple career choices and higher aspirations today, students are confused about making the right choice. Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru Campus organized a career guidance program on December 21st called “Power of Youth – Futuristic Career Trends for Students” at Shamanur Shivashankarappa Parvathamma Kalyana Mantapa, Davangere exclusively for pre-university science students. Over 2000 students, principals and lecturers from across Davangere district attended the event.
The Chief Guests for the event were Shri Niranjan G.C., Deputy Director of Pre University Education, Davangere District, Bri. Anjali, Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam Davangere, Br. Anand Shenoi, Asst. Professor of Computer Science at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Amritapuri Campus and Director of ICPC Global Asia Amritapuri. Also present were Shri Suresh K.S., President of Principal Association and Professor Krishna Kutty, Life Coach and Motivational Speaker.
The event started with invocation and lighting of the lamp, after which the guests were welcomed with flower bouquets. The guests were felicitated for their achievements in the field of education and service to humanity. Addressing the gathering, DDPU Shri Niranjan advised the students about making the right career choice and the method by which to do it. He also advised parents not to pressure their children into choosing a profession, and to let the children decide on their own. In her speech, Bri. Anjali, Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam, Davangere encouraged the students with inspirational stories and advised them to have a broader vision about education. Later, she conducted a short meditation for the gathering to relieve stress and to improve memory. This meditation created a sense of deep relaxation and helped in calming the students’ minds. Br. Anand Shenoi, in his session, spoke to the young aspirants about the technology driven world of today. The session opened up new horizons for the students and enriched their knowledge about the field of technology. Shri Krishna Kutty spoke to the gathering about human values and the important role of parents in one’s life.
The event concluded with vote of thanks and national anthem. Overall, the program helped the students to get a better understanding of the opportunities available to them and in connecting dream to reality.
