Gratitude towards the Guru…
Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu
Gurur Devo Maheshwarah
Gurur Saakshaat Parabhrama
Tasmai Shri Guruve Namaha
Gurupurnima was celebrated on July 18th at our Amrita Nursery to acknowledge the contribution made by teachers and parents who are considered as Gurus. The event was organized by teachers and students of Amrita Nursery, and graced by Principal Bri. Anjali amma, Administrator Shri Kotreshappa and Section Heads. Amrita Nursery has been keeping the lamp of Guru tatva alive every year to reaffirm our belief in and allegiance to the Guru-Shishya Parampara.
The auspicious celebration began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by prayer. The nursery children welcomed the gathering with pure hearts filled with devotion. The amazing and confident tiny tots illumined the stage dressed up as spiritual Gurus like Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Shirdi Sai Baba, Raghavendra Swamy, Basavanna, Sarvagna and Swami Vivekananda in the fancy dress programme that was arranged as part of the celebration. This event conveyed the message that the Guru is the one who leads us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. They also sang bhajans in their enchanting and melodious voices, enthralling the gathering. The most adorable and significant part of the event was the offering of flowers at the lotus feet of our beloved Amma by the little ones with their hearts filled with innocent devotion. The ritual was led by Principal Bri. Anjali amma amidst the chanting of the divine names of Amma.
The celebration concluded with Arati, Shanti Mantra and distribution of prasadam.
