The 71 st Republic Day was celebrated in all solemnity and grandeur at
Amrita Vidyalayam Davangere on 26th of January. The event began at 8:30
a.m. with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag by Principal Bri. Anjali
amma, and the entire school joined together in singing the national anthem.
Students and staff saluted the Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the
honour, integrity and diversity of India.

The cultural programmes began with invocation by the school choir group
and offering of flowers at the lotus feet of our Divine Mother and the
portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by the Principal. The choir group presented a
patriotic song, and Urvi of Class 9 delivered a speech glorifying the spirit of
unity and brotherhood in India.

The day came to an end with vote of thanks to the Principal, staff, parents
and students for their active participation in making the Republic Day a
wonderful celebration. Students dispersed after snacks with the image of
the fluttering tricolour in their minds.
