The tiny tots of Amrita Nursery celebrated Blue Day on October 21st, 2019. Excitement and enthusiasm were visible everywhere. All the children came dressed in different shades of blue, and the classrooms were decorated with blue coloured objects. The significance of the colour Blue was reiterated through a series of activities. Clad in blue clothes, students were made to recognize the colour blue through different playway activities like memory games and object identification. An array of blue objects such as ball, flower, balloons, toys, etc. were displayed, providing the students the opportunity to get a clear idea of the colour and its importance. Students enacted a mime conveying the message to save water. They also crafted handouts and spoke about the importance of Blue Day.
Blue, the colour of loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust had a very positive impact on the students bringing harmony and brotherhood. It was an amazing learning experience for them, and had a lasting effect on every child. Early identification of colours helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words which is an important part of a child’s development. The celebration was indeed a visual treat for all of us!
