Green day was celebrated on June 24th by the sparkling tiny tots of Amrita Nursery. This day was celebrated to make the children feel more responsible as citizens of the Earth. As a school, it is our responsibility to teach the children the value of Nature and the fact that we have only one Earth to live in.
The children came to school dressed in green. Their mothers showed some creativity by sending green coloured articles such as green leaves, balls, bangles, paper, fruits, vegetables, stickers, plates, caps, sprouts etc. These articles were used to exquisitely decorate the classroom resulting in a visually- stimulating realm of creativity.
The day commenced with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by our Honourable Principal Bri. Anjali amma, followed by a welcome address by Smt. Veena O.R. The section heads were also present to grace the occasion. Our Principal was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and creativity of the students. The tiny tots showed their concern for the environment through their speeches, dances and skit, leaving everyone in the audience awestruck.
The entire programme was compered by Smt. Poornima. The vote of thanks was delivered by Smt. Jyotilakshmi P. The tiny tots honoured the Principal and section heads by offering tender coconuts, as they are known as the prime among fruits and are used for all auspicious occasions. The nursery faculty also presented the Principal with a Tulsi sapling which is known for its divine qualities.
All in all, the programme was fabulous with lots of excitement.
