International Day of Yoga

The international Day of Yoga was celebrated during the early hours of June 21, 2016 to bring peace, harmony, happiness, spiritual discipline and success to every soul in this world. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried out every day.

Children of classes 9 and 10 put up a stunning show to mark the 2nd International Yoga Day celebration. This day enabled them to understand how yoga embodies unity of the mind and body. All the children took part enthusiastically and stayed in tune with nature from 7 am to 8 am. The arena seemed enchanted with the chanting of shlokas for invoking Mother Nature by our Principal Bri. Anjali amma.

The children enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing formations and postures in the manner that our beloved Amma had suggested. They displayed the various yogasanas with great dedication, determination and diligence. The asanas performed were flawless and a perfect visual treat to the august gathering. The subtle gestures were well executed and synchronized to the instructions given by administrator Sri Kotreshappa H.J.

Later, our Principal addressed the students emphasizing the need to bring peace, tranquillity, and the values of sharing and caring to their lives. In her inspiring speech, she stressed that yoga has a therapeutic effect, aiding in relaxation and bringing relief to stress. At the end of the day, the children were provided with a health drink.
