World Environment Day is observed every year on June 5th to raise global awareness about the environment, and to take positive action to protect Nature and Planet Earth.
World Environment Day was celebrated at our school with full enthusiasm by our students and teachers. The theme resolute for WED 2016 was Go Wild for Life.
To mark the day, the school had a meaningful assembly highlighting the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment and the need to conserve resources. The students and staff took a pledge to make Earth a better place to live in. Principal Bri. Anjali traditionally planted a Tulsi sapling which is regarded as the earthly manifestation of Goddess Tulsi. The planting took place amidst chanting of Sanskrit slokas.
It was a delight to see children holding placards with slogans written on them. Students of IX and X went on a procession shouting slogans, led by our school band troupe.
Students of VI and VII brought vegetable peels from their homes and enthusiastically engaged in preparing a compost pit. The day ended with the hope that we become responsible citizens and work for the effective conservation of Mother Earth and her natural resources.
